One of my very favorite sermons!!!! You are truly amazing to share your notes. No one can preach it like you do, but love that you are so generous!!

PTL Brother Ballestero,
I was actually going through these scriptures yesterday. I was trying to find out in my Strongs where I can prove to my friend that “You must be born of the water and of the SPIRIT” means the Holy Ghost and tongues, instead of the free love SPIRIT that the Charismatics believe they have. Any suggestions?

When they received the Holy Ghost in Acts, they all spake with tongues. That’s the 1st sign.

But what about sounds that are not sounds like tongues. For instance, bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb, lalalalalalalala, nananananananana. That’s what I need clarification on. The tongues that I have sounds like word I don’t know, but my friend’s are different. They sound like syllables above. Where does one draw the line?

Thank you for noticing the difference. Tongues are words not babbling or gibberish like your lalalalalal nanananana bbbbbbb sounds. 1Cor. 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Cor. 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Tongues are the languages of men and of angels. The Bible says ye shall speak with new tongues, not speak with new syllables.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
If she won’t listen to you after all your explanation, than be careful she doesn’t deceive you. With some it seems like they are in delusion and happy to be there. Those kind of people make me want to distance myself from them.
If they don’t say ‘words’ they didn’t get the Holy Ghost, plain and simple.

As far as my own experience goes, I received the Holy Ghost at home. I didn’t know what it was. It scared me to death. Being a Methodist, I thought I was weird. But it still sounded like actual words. Now when I got re-baptized in the Apostolic church, I noticed that it changed. I have no scripture for that. 🙂 My friend is in the same position I was in 24 years ago, church hopping and searching. She often uses her seminary degree to disagree with me, so I am doing my best to be a living witness. 🙂
