“Is There Any Hope For Me?

“I don’t think God can forgive me! You don’t know what I’ve done and I am too ashamed to say anything to anyone. You may not even want me to come back to your church, and I wouldn’t blame you. I’ve made a mess of my life, but I really want to be saved.”

The old pastor sat looking at the tear filled eyes of the desperate man in his office. He had no idea what sins had been committed, and really didn’t want to know every detail unless he really had too.

Knowing that thoughts of hopelessness may drive some people to do drastic things, he turned slightly and reached for the Bible on the edge of his desk. The gentle sound of pages turning in the Bible became punctuated with several sniffles and then a loud nose blowing.

“I want to read to you a very old Scripture, son.”

The preacher ran his finger down the right side of the page until it came to rest on what he was looking for, and then he began to read the verse in a gentle and calming tone.

“Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”

All manner of sin shall be forgiven unto men, and all is a very large number.

The preacher leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes while he lifted his face a bit toward the ceiling.

“ Now, I haven’t asked what you have done, but I can tell that your conscience is severely tormented. Let me do something unusual and start listing some sins that God will forgive. He will forgive them, because His Word said, ‘all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven’ so that should cover things like:

“Cheating

“Stealing

“Shoplifting

“Robbery

“Theft

“Blackmail

“Extortion

“Embezzlement

“Bribery

“Fraud

“Murder

“Abortion

“Drinking

“Smoking

“Drug Use

“Drug Trafficking

“Kidnapping

“Car Jacking

“Pornography

“Adultery

“Fornication

“Perversion

“Immorality

“Prostitution

“Lusts

“Abuse

“Hatred

“Wrath

“These are only some of the sins He forgives. All you have to do is repent and really mean it.”

The old preacher opened his eyes and smiled kindly at the distraught form in front of him.

“The good news for you is, yes there is hope for you. Yes, Jesus will forgive you, and yes He still loves you and yes, so do I.

“Let me quote 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

“Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

“In the name of the Lord Jesus… Means baptism in Jesus Name.

“By the Spirit o our God… is the Holy Ghost.

“There is forgiveness for everyone if they will repent. You’ve already obeyed Acts 2:38. You’ve already been baptized in Jesus name and you’ve been filled with the Holy Ghost. So, all you need to do to get right with God now, is repent. Confess and forsake your sins.

“Repentance is the first step. It’s the key that gets your life turned around and your sins forgiven. He knows you’ve done wrong. But He is not willing that anyone should perish or go to Hell. Not even you. He’s waiting for you to repent right now.

“If you would like, we can pray right now. Would you like for me to pray with you?”

The pastor stood up and walked toward the weeping man. They both knelt and began to pray in earnest.

That’s when Mercy walked into the room…

“Who Are You To Judge Me?”

How many times have we heard someone say that, whether it was directed to us or to someone else? It’s easy for most of us to get offended when others express disapproval of our actions.

By nature, most of us are very private. We resent outsiders intruding uninvited into our personal lives. Wegg57234595 automatically throw up a defensive barrier. Somewhere in all of us there is a storage room that houses cryptic phrases designed for rebuttal and justification. We quickly grab one and use it with the hopes of silencing our accuser. Sometimes, it works.

Most church members and ex-church member alike consider the act of judging a grievous fault. So, since most of us have been judged at one time or another, let us look at the subject of judging others.

As citizens, we are used to being judged every day on our skills, behavior, and performance.

Judgment Is Common In Every Day Society

  • Television shows, such as American Idol, judge contestants on their ability to sing and perform.
  • At the County Fair, someone will judge which pie is the best.
  • There are judges at dog shows, and the dollar value of someone’s beloved pet may be at their mercy.
  • When a prospective new driver turns 16 years old, his or her driving ability is judged. Someone must determine if they should be issued a driver’s license.
  • To be promoted to the next grade and even graduate, a teacher must determine the student’s academic ability.
  • To become a licensed minister in an organization. An applicant’s worthiness is determined when he appears before a licensing board.
  • Every new pastor that is voted on by the church has his qualifications judged by the congregation’s yes or no vote. The same holds true for politicians.
  • The Bank Officer judges the applicants credit rating and payment history before loaning any money.
  • The Miss America beauty pageant uses Judges to determine who should represent the U.S.A.
  • There are multitudes of judges for every Olympic event.
  • The gardener judges whether or not the tree’s branches need pruned, or if the tomatoes need watered.
  • Someone will be a judge over who gets custody of the child, and who gets what, in the divorce settlement.
  • The Traffic Cop judges whether or not you should be pulled over and cited.
  • Every employee knows the meaning of a “Performance Review.” Someone must sit on the other side of the desk and judge the employees worthiness.
  • Actually, everyone that wants the bragging rights of being the best, the fastest, or the most gifted, must first meet the judge.

We seem to be comfortable with the idea of being judged according to our fleshly activities. We understand that no one receives approval without a judgment of some kind. However, it’s man’s judgment of our spiritual pursuits, or lack thereof, that brings the fire into our reactions.

 

Webster Defines The Word, “Judge” As:

Judge

1: to form an opinion about through careful weighing of evidence and testing of premises.

 

You’re Sick And Tired Of Others Judging You? I Understand. Let’s Look At The Subject Of Judging In The Bible.

Is it true that Christians are told not to judge? The surprise answer is no. In fact, according to Scripture those who do not judge are more likely to be led astray by false doctrines and are less than effective witnesses for Jesus Christ.

 

Most People Who Cite The Lord’s “Command” Not To Judge, Use Following Quotation:

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Matthew 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

 

To Whom Were These Words Spoken?

This whole passage is addressed to the religious hypocrites of the day. Jesus warned these self-righteous people who criticized others, but were guilty of the same things… or worse.

 

You’re Sick And Tired Of Others Judging You? As Much As Our Flesh Doesn’t Like It, Church Members Must Make Judgments.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  • False prophets are to be recognized (judged) by their fruits.

Should Christians Judge Each Other? Absolutely!

The Lord is pleased with those that judge righteously.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

 

Some Lukewarm Church Members Feel That A Preacher Should Not Be Their Judge.

I would point them the Lord’s instruction to the Priest Joshua.

Zechariah 3:7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

 

Remember John The Baptist saying:

Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Mark 6:17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

Mark 6:18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

  • John had guts enough to tell King Herod that he was wrong, that he was living with his brother’s wife. Herod had John thrown in prison and finally beheaded. John was not afraid to make a righteous judgment.

The Prophet Nathan Looked King David In The Eye And Judged Him.

2 Samuel 12:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

 

There Has Always Been Resentment In The Congregation Against Messages That Judge.

Isaiah 30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

  • Even in the days of Isaiah, men wanted to be left alone by the man of God. They only were willing to hear smooth preaching. Not much has changed. They wanted to do what ever their conscience allowed them to do.

Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

  • Without accountability, even the people of God sink to this level. The shocking news for our flesh is that what is right in our eyes may not be right in God’s eyes. We all need help. We just need it in different areas.

 

What About Discernment Of Spirits?

1 Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

  • This is a gift that God provided for His body, whereby Holy Ghost filled people may be able to determine what spirit another is manifesting. In a way, it’s like being able to see what’s on the inside of another person.

 

Try The Spirits. (Judge Them)

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

 

Samuel

The Prophet learned about judging spirits the hard way. He found out quickly that God looked not only on the outside, like humans, but He looked especially at the heart.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

(Note: They that are spiritually wayward love to justify their carnal and maybe even sinful outward appearance by saying that God looks on the heart. (As if that were the only place He looks.) This passage strongly makes the point that God did not even like what he saw on the inside. Maybe the self-righteous should not use this verse as their defense.)

 

If You Don’t Want Anyone Judging You, Be Glad You Weren’t There When The Apostle Paul Preached.

 

Paul Judged Situations Publically Without Being Present.

  • Case 1. Immorality

1 Corinthians 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

1 Corinthians 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

  • That person’s lifestyle resulted in the church judging them guilty and calling them by the name of their sin.

1 Corinthians 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

1 Corinthians 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

  • Case 2. Church Factions During The Lord’s Supper

1 Corinthians 11:17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

1 Corinthians 11:18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

  • Paul Openly Judged Sensitive Situations.

 

Judgment Is Required Of All Spiritual People.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

(The Message) 1 Corinthians 2:15 Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and can’t be judged by unspiritual critics.

 

Spirit Filled Saints Are To Judge All Things.

Godly Spirit-filled saints are required to judge all things. Judge spirits? Yes! Judge things as well? Absolutely!

 

We Are To Judge All Things By God’s Standard Of Judgment. Things Such As:

  • Life Situations
  • Events
  • Relationships
  • Friendships
  • Music
  • Internet Activities
  • Entertainment
  • Hollywood Presentations
  • Sports
  • False Doctrines
  • Styles of Dress
  • Compromise
  • Immodesty

Just To Name A Few

 

(Note: EVERYONE that I have seen who re-evaluated their Holiness Standards or Convictions has not grown closer to God or resembled the Old-time Pentecostal lifestyle, but rather moved closer to looking and acting like the present world.)

 

The Apostles Judged A Situation Correctly And The Holy Ghost Confirmed It.

Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

Paul Wasn’t Afraid To Have His Brethren Weigh His Words.

1 Corinthians 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

1 Corinthians 10:15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

 

You Dislike Being Judged? I Understand, But Even Prophets Are Subject To Being Judged.

Prophets Judge Other Prophets.

A Prophet’s reward is not money or fame. It is simply that his prophecy comes true. If the prophecy does not come true he is, by all standards of measurement, a false prophet.

1 Corinthians 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

The Pastor Must Make Judgment Calls.

Some situations a Pastor has to deal with are not mentioned specifically by name in the Bible. So, he must make a judgment call, or a ruling. Hence, they that make good rulings are worthy of double honor.

1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

There’s No Doubt A Good Reason Why Some Make A Loud Noise About Not Wanting Anyone To Judge Them.

Scenario 1

Maybe They Are In Rebellion And Don’t Want To Change.

  • Because they are not doing right, and they do not want anyone reminding them.
  • They know what they have been taught.
  • They remember how they used to live.
  • They chose to ignore the Word of God and the Pastor.

Scenario 2

Maybe God Has Turned Them Over To A Delusion.

  • They feel they are right and will debate you tirelessly in their attempt to justify themselves.
  • They feel saved and content even though they have never been farther away from Truth.
  • They wouldn’t love Truth, so God handpicked their delusion and gave them something they would love. Error.

Scenario 3

A Humble Heart Will Repent When Judged And Correct The Error.

2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Preacher… Preach The Word. It Is God’s Plumb Line.

  • Preach Without Fear or Favor.
  • Be Not Afraid Of Their Faces.
  • You Must Answer To God For What You Preached And Didn’t Preach.
  • Preach It Even if It Affects Your Friends Or Family.
  • Preach it Because It Is Truth.

 

Correction Must Be Given When The Actions Of A Saint Are Judged To Be Wrong.

1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

Titus 1:13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Titus 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

 

If We Willingly Receive Correction and Instruction, We Show Evidence Of Being God’s Son.

Hebrews 12:5 … My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

 

If You’re Still Sick And Tired Of Others Judging You…

  • How Then Can Anyone Help You?
  • You Don’t Want A Pastor.
  • You Don’t Even Want A True Friend.
  • You Choose To Do What You Want.
  • No One Can Be Helped Without First Being Judged To Be In Need Of Help.
  • Please Don’t Put Up A Wall Of Defense Any More When Your Life Is Judged To Be Not Pleasing Unto God.

 

Who Are You To Judge Me?

  • A Tender Hearted Person Would Never Speak Those Words.
  • Have You Become Unteachable?
  • Are You Past Help?
  • Have You Become Hard Hearted?
  • Do You Want A Tender Heart?
  • Do You Want To Be Saved?
  • Then Start By Humbling Yourself And Submitting To God’s Word.

“I Pity The Fool”

According to Wikipedia, the 1980’s heard much from the vocal TV personality, Mr. T.  One ofmrt his famous quotes was, “I pity the fool.”

All I know about him is what I can remember from an occasional article in the newspaper or from someone’s comment. But there is much truth to his words, especially when they are viewed in light of the Scriptures.

Every fool is to be pitied. The Bible makes that very clear. Nothing good is ever said about a fool in the Bible. There almost seems to be very little hope in Scripture, for a fool to be saved.

*Saul, a king, admitted that he was a fool.

1 Samuel 26:21 Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

*General Abner, like a fool, stepped outside of God’s safety and died.

2 Samuel 3:33 And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth?

*Half of the ten virgins were foolish. Those five were disowned and not allowed entrance into the wedding feast.

Matthew 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Fools Do More Harm To Themselves Than Good, Even In Church.

Ecclesiastes 5:1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

God Don’t Like Fools.

There is Nothing A Fool Can Do That Would Please God, Except Repent.

Ecclesiastes 5:4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

If You Are A Fool, What Choices Do You Have? Only Two.

1. Continue On In Your Sins.

  • Ignore God and eventually you will die and go to hell.

2. Come To Yourself, Turn Your Life Over To God.

  • Repent and cry out for mercy.
  • Submit yourself to God and obey His Word.

Acts 2:37-39

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

She’s Not PLU

 

Two proud ladies sat talking talked in confidential tones about a newcomer in their small town while in the presence of a local official.

“She’s not PLU,” said the first lady to the man.

“PLU?” He asked with a wrinkle in his brow.

“Yes, PLU. People Like Us.” She gave a knowing smirk of superiority and leaned back in her chair satisfied with her belief that she was the better person.

*This incident may not be common conversation in everyone neighborhood, but the Bible shows us that it truly has been a problem for thousands of years.

 

In Biblical Times

One Of The First Instructions To Israel After They Exited From Egypt Was How To Treat The Non-Believers That Chose To Live Among Them.

 

Leviticus 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

 

God reminded Israel, that if anyone should know what it felt like to be the one that doesn’t fit in, it should be them.

“Love him as thyself,” was the Lord’s commandment!

Jesus Repeated That Commandment To His Followers.

He told them it was the second greatest commandment. If the subject had to be revisited by Him after 4,000 years, then why should we think that it is not needed today?

 

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Mark 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

 

Some that heard Jesus that day didn’t really feel comfortable having anyone mess with their PLU Club. Their response was, “Who is my neighbor?”

 

Remember The Story Of the Good Samaritan?

 

Luke 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

Luke 10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Luke 10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

Luke 10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Luke 10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Luke 10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

The Priest wouldn’t help him.

The Levite wouldn’t help him.

The one that helped him was someone that was not PLU.

 

Remember The Uncomfortableness In The Religious Caste System When Jesus Ate With Sinners?

The inner circle only approved of Jesus talking and visiting with other PLU.

 

Luke 15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.Simon “The Leper” Threw A Religious Hissy Fit When Mary Washed His Feet.

 

Luke 7:39  Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

 

Simon was a LEPER and he was honored by the Lord’s presence. Yet, he could not believe that Jesus would tolerate the likes of someone like Mary. She’s not PLU.

 

Jesus never showed anger at a sinner. He did show much displeasure with the self-righteous who tolerated no one that wasn’t PLU.

 

Jesus Tried To Abolish The PLU Club. He Told Stories That Illustrated His Feelings.

The King’s Son’s Wedding.

 

Matthew 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Matthew 22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

Luke 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

 

*The King ordered his servants to bring in whomever they could, even if they were not PLU.

 

Richman And Lazarus

 

Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

Luke 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

Luke 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs, which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

Luke 16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Luke 16:24  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Luke 16:25  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they, which would pass from hence to you, cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Luke 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

Luke 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Luke 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

Luke 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

 

Why Did The Richman Go To Hell?

 

What Sin Did The Richman Commit? I’m Not God, You’re Not God. But It Would Appear That The Greatest Accusation Against The Richman Was His Abhorrence Of Those That Were Not PLU.

 

 It Was Said Of Jesus: “He Saved Others”

 

Do we reach out to the ‘others’ in our town? Or, do we only try to connect with PLU?

 

The Last Communication From John The Baptist In Prison Required That Jesus Give Proof That He Was The Messiah.

 

Luke 7:20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

Luke 7:21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

Luke 7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

 

*The proof that Jesus sent back to John, was that the Door was now open to those who were not PLU

 

The Last Words Of Jesus To His Disciples Was About PLU And Those That Were Not PLU.

 

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Luke 24:48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

 

The Holy Ghost Was To Be For Everyone. Not Just PLU.

 

Even Peter initially struggled with the concept of salvation being for those that were not PLU. God had to give him an attitude adjustment before he went to preach to Cornelius.

 

They Continued Steadfastly

 

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

 

The whole New Testament church fellowshipped together regularly. No one was left out. They socialized together. Everyone was included.

 

Today

We lock our doors.

We have passwords.

We have different Sororities.

We have different Fraternities.

We have different Gangs.

We have different Neighborhoods.

We have different Clubs.

We have Clicks.

We have Pecking Orders.

We have snobs.

We have bigots.

We have racists.

We are afraid of all those that are not like us.

Organizations And Independents

Some Organization have little acceptance of Independents.

Some Independents have little acceptance of Organizations.

Some Organizations have little acceptance of other Organizations.

Some Organization’s members often do not speak to those that are not PLU.

Some Independents return the favor.

Some church members have tried to ignore members of another church at the mall and restaurant.

Some churches would prefer that those of a different ‘race’ go to another church.

 

Why Is that?

God only has one Race… The Human Race.

God only has one Church Body.

He doesn’t have a white church, a black church, a Hispanic church or an Asian church.

He just has one church.

 

These Card Carrying Members Of The Local PLU Club:

Resist and Hinder Apostolic Revival.

Bring a spirit of strife and cause confusion in the church.

Exhibit the spirit of a Pharisee.

Create clicks with PLU and share negative opinions about others.

Make others feel unwelcome and unwanted.

Destroy unity in the church and thereby stop revival.

I Am Not Talking About Holiness Minded People, Compromising Their Beliefs.

I Am Talking About Members Of The Church Of Jesus Christ, Loving Every Sinner And Every Saint.

What I Am Talking About Is Opening Our Arms And Our Church Doors To Those That Are Hurting And Need God.

In Every Local Hospital.

There are some wealthy people sick in bed there.

There are some poor people there too.

There are some that are educated and some that are illiterate.

There are some homeowners and some homeless.

The door to the Emergency Room is never locked.

Every hurting, bleeding and desperate person is welcomed and attended to.

That Is How The Church Should Be.

Loving the unlovable

Caring for those who can’t take care of themselves.

Helping those that need direction.

We are a spiritual hospital.

 

Remember…

 

Matthew 25:40 …Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

You Have Been Greatly Favored Of The Lord! He Has Chosen To Honor You!

 

 

1. He Honored You By Opening Your Understanding.

Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

2. He Honored You By Allowing You To Repent Of Your Sins!

No one can unilaterally choose when to repent.

It was God that drew you to repentance.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

It was The Goodness of God led you to Repentance.

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

3. He Honored You When He Washed Your Sins Away In Baptism In His Name, According To Acts 2:38!

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

4. He Honored You When He Filled You With The Holy Ghost Speaking In Other Tongues!

One of the world’s highest honors is for Christ to choose your body as a temple to dwell in.

You have been highly favored of the Lord!

You Have Now Embarked Upon A Journey Full Of Honor And Divine Favor.

5. He Honored You By Giving You A Wonderful Pastor Who Would Preach The Truth And Lead You In The Paths Of Righteousness.

            Always Honor Your Pastor. He Is Here In Christ’s Stead.

1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

6. He Honored You By Giving You A Revelation Of Who He Is. God, Manifested In The Flesh!

Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

7. He Honored You By Guiding You Into All Truth.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

 

8. He Honors You By Providing Healing For All Of Your Diseases.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

9. He Honors You By Supplying All Your Needs.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

10. He Honors You By Protecting And Defending You.

Remember!  Honor Is A Two Way Street!

 

God Especially Focuses On The Subject Of Honor.

He Is Well Pleased When Those He Has Honored, Choose To Honor Him In Return.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

 

He Tells Children To Honor Their Father And Mother.

Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

 

He Tells Us To Honor Our Seniors And Show Respect.

Leviticus 19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.

 

He Tells Us To Honor The Widows.

1 Timothy 5:3 Honour widows that are widows indeed.

 

Honor Him With Your Praise And Worship.

Psalm 71:8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

 

God Requires That You Honor Him With More Than Just Words.

Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

 

He Expects You To Honor Him With Your Tithes. In Doing So, You Honor Him For What He Has Given You. He Then Will Honor You More.

Proverbs 3:9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Proverbs 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

 

Your Lifestyle Should Honor Him.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Your Conduct

Your Spirit

 

Your Faithfulness To His House Honors Him.

He Places His Honor in His House.

Psalm 26:8 Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

 

Your Love For Others Honors Him

Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

 

Your Moral Purity And Separation From The World Honors Him

1 Thessalonians 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Your Modest Clothing Honors Him

1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

1 Timothy 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Your Prayer Honors Him.

Your Reaching For The Lost Honors Him.

Your Service In His Kingdom Honors Him.

Your Manifesting The Fruits Of The Spirit Honors Him.

Your Putting Him First In All Things Honors Him.

Your Asking Him To Direct Your Every Step Honors Him.

Your Including Him In Your Decision Making Honors Him.

 

Does Your Life Honor Him?

 

Be A Vessel Of Honor, Not A Vessel Of Dishonor.

2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

God Has Chosen To Honor You.

The Way You Thank Him, Is Not Just With Words Alone,

You Honor Him When Your Life Is Surrendered To Serving Him.

You Honor Him When You Keep His Commandments.

You Honor Him By Surrendering To His Will.

You Honor Him By Doing His Will.

You Honor Him By Laboring In His Harvest.
