“If I Can Just Make It Through Today…”

How often have we met someone who was at their wit’s end? Their pain and problems maybe obvious to their family and friends. Yet there is always that unspoken deeper pain that they don’t freely share, that drives that last nail in their coffin.

With much anguish, and often with tear rimmed eyes, we have heard someone make the remark… “If I can just make it through today.”

Every day life and every day people can be overwhelming even on good days. Yet no one can truly know how much heartache their friend or family member feels when their world crashes around them.

We may have sympathy and maybe even empathy for their situation. Most of the time however, we just stand helplessly on the sidelines and watch.

Sometimes we offer words, sometimes we formulate a plan of action to help them, but too many times, we just say we’ll pray. God knows some of our praying for others is sadly without much sincerity or desperation.

Yet, to those who face things that are so overwhelming that they feel hopeless. To those that feel the unbearable pressure of life’s worst problems crushing the very life from them, I have a good word for you today.

Deut. 33:25 …and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

God WILL give you enough strength for today. Trust Him. Tomorrow? He’ll give you enough strength for tomorrow too. God ALWAYS comes through.

  1. Could you say also “give us this day our daily bread?” Give us all that we need to make it through today.

  5. Just recently I had to say,”I’ll pray for you!” to someone near and dear to me. It’s hard to not have an answer but one of the scriptures that came to me in that time was “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” I Cor. 12:9 When we feel at our weakest and don’t know how we can make it through God is there to hold us up! That passage helped us both!

  6. I do love that scripture. I still am grateful to you for giving that to me when I was going thru a really, really tough time in my life. I would say that like a mantra & He did provide the strength!! Love the blog.

  7. Oh my Brother, God knew just how desperately I needed this word tonight! If ever God let something be in perfect timing, it is now.My mother-in-law is waiting at heavens gate for the angels to take her any minute, and my 4 yr.old grandson gors for brain testing in the morning.I feel hopeless, caught in a bad place.I asked God for something to hold onto. I will hold fast to this post, as I know God sent it. Can you please say a prayer for Sister Euetta Lawrence, whom I believe you may know,(Your dad preached many messages to her under Bro. Steve Hancock ) many years ago , as she waits for the angels, and her great grandson Joshua Lawrence( a member of New Bethel Church) also my grandson. I thank you for obeying God with this post. God Bless and Keep you.
