Things About God That Thrill Me!

Things About God That Thrill Me!

Psa. 145:5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Psa. 145:21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

1. It Thrills Me To Know God Is Still On The Throne!

  • When dictators are dead and forgotten, God will still be God.
  • He is eternal.

When stars fall from heaven and the sun grow cold and mountains crumble into dust, His Throne still rules.

2. His Blood Has Never Lost Its Power!

The blood of bulls and goats has dried up long ago, but Christ’s Blood is more powerful than sacrificed animals.

  • Picture the ancient priests and the sacrifices.
  • But, now we are blood washed.
  • He has given us a clear record.
  • We are Saved, Washed and Protected by the Blood.

3. It Thrills Me That Every Promise Is True!

  • God cannot lie.
  • He always keeps His Word
  • He is not obligated to make us any promise.
  • But once He does, He is bound to keep it.

The Character, Justice and Goodness of God stand behind every Divine Promise.

4. I Am Thrilled To Remember That Heaven Is Real!

  • It is more than a city in the state of the mind.
  • On the authority of God’s Word, it is an eternal City.
  • It is a prepared City for a prepared people.
  • He has prepared a place for us.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

5. I Am Thrilled That He Is Coming Back Again!

  • He came the first time because the prophets said He would.
  • He’s coming the second time by His own Word and Testimony.

To His Disciples the Angels said:

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

6. None Of These Truths Could Really Thrill Me Unless I Was Convinced The Soul Is Immortal!

  • My soul is going to live forever somewhere.
  • It can be saved or lost.
  • But it will live eternally.

7. I Am Thrilled What The Pentecostal New Birth Experience Does For Us.

  • It gives us Victory
  • Forgiveness
  • Joy
  • Power
  • His Name!
  • Eternal Life

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

You Are Here

You Are Here

Have you ever stopped in a new mall and looked at the directory to orient yourself? That is basically what I am intending to do today with some of our current events and the Word of the Lord.

These really are the last days. All we have to do is look around and we see Bible prophecy fulfilled in our newspapers and most of our churches.

There are many more references than I have the time or space to list, but here are few that are worthy of note.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

For the time will come

  • Not endure sound doctrine
  • Itching Ears
  • They only want to hear what they want to hear.
  • They will go from preacher to preacher looking for an easy Gospel.
  • Their lives will become a ‘fable’ (fiction)

THIS IS NO LONGER PROPHECY, YOU ARE HERE!

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Last Days

  • Perilous Times
  • Blasphemers, Unthankful,
  • Disobedient to Parents
  • Unholy
  • Without natural affection
  • Can’t keep their word.
  • False accusers.
  • Lives out of control
  • Fierce
  • Despisers of those that are living right.
  • Traitors
  • Unteachable
  • Arrogant
  • Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God.
  • Have a form of godliness.
  • Denying the power therof.

THIS IS NO LONGER PROPHECY, YOU ARE HERE!

2Pet 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

Last Days

  • Scoffers
  • Living to please self.

THIS IS NO LONGER PROPHECY, YOU ARE HERE!

Mt 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Mt 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Mt 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Below are some conditions in the world that are current as of March 14, 2011.

Now For They Good News!!!

Jesus In The Synagogue

Lk 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Lk 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

Lk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Lk 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Lk 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

Lk 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Jesus was saying to His generation,

THIS IS NO LONGER PROPHECY, YOU ARE HERE!

Peter Preached On The Day Of Pentecost:

Acts 2:12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Acts 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Peter Said, “This Is That” Which Was Prophesied:

He was saying:

THIS IS NO LONGER PROPHECY, YOU ARE HERE!

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Today Is The Day Of Salvation

THIS IS NO LONGER PROPHECY, YOU ARE HERE!

The Out-Pouring of the Holy Ghost is no longer Prophecy. You Are Here!!

Random Scriptures About The Second Coming Of The Lord

Random Scriptures About The Second Coming Of The Lord

While looking in the front of a Bible given to me by Bro. Kenneth Bow, I found a list of Scriptures he had written down concern the coming of the Lord. I thank him. I have taken the liberty to list them here.

There are those that say, He is not coming again. They say He already came again, 2,000 years ago. I don’t believe that, and neither should you.

These verses give me hope that He is coming soon. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

••••

2Th. 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2Th. 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

••••

Matt. 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

••••

Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Luke 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

••••

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

••••

1Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

•••••

1Cor. 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Cor. 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1Cor. 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Cor. 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1Cor. 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

1Cor. 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

••••

2Cor. 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

••••

1Th. 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1Th. 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Th. 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1Th. 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Th. 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1Th. 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

••••

1Th. 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

1Th. 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

1Th. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

••••

Heb. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Heb. 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

••••

Heb. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Heb. 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

••••

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

James 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

••••

2Pet. 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

2Pet. 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

2Pet. 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

2Pet. 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

2Pet. 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

2Pet. 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2Pet. 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2Pet. 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

••••

1John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

••••

Rev. 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

••••

Rev. 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Rev. 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Rev. 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Rev. 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Rev. 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

Rev. 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

••••

Col. 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

••••

Matt. 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

••••

Matt. 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

••••

Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

••••

2Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

••••

Rev. 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

••••

Heb. 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

••••

Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

••••

2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

••••

Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Mark 13:34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Mark 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Mark 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

The Voice Behind The Door

with 3 comments

The Voice Behind The Door

Benjamin didn’t believe in God. Well, maybe just a little bit. But he just wasn’t into the ‘God’ thing.

He’d never heard anything positive mentioned about God at home. The word ‘God’ was only used in swearing, but that was the extent of it. He was happy without God.

Ben was old enough to get married. But he was in no hurry. The girls he knew were all willing and available. He loved to dance and party with them all. He especially loved to drink and to get drunk with his friends.

When Ben got drunk he was the life of the party. He was also proud of his tough guy image. He was persistent about portraying a macho persona. Not many guys messed with Ben when he was sober or drunk. He was tough.

For as long as he could remember, a preacher lived down the street from him. The preacher was weird. He wasn’t realistic in his preaching. He was old school and said a lot of off the wall things. Ben avoided him as much as possible. When he saw him in the local market, he avoided him. He was afraid that the old preacher would try to convert him.

One time, with some of his buddies for moral support, they went to hear the preacher preach, just for the fun of it. It was cheap entertainment. They got their money’s worth too.

He preached about repenting. He told about the danger of Godless living. He preached about their drinking and immorality. He told them that God was displeased with them. The old preacher warned them about the end time and about the coming judgment.

Ben and his friends laughed very hard later when they talked about the sermon. ‘Old Preach’ was crazy.

No one in the neighborhood ever joined ‘Old Preach’s” congregation. The only believers he had seemed to be his own family.

The town wished him to leave.

But he kept on preaching. His little congregation never grew.

Then one morning Ben walked to the door of his house and looked at the rain falling from the storm clouds. His mind turned to the thoughts about ‘Old Preach’ and Ben hurried down the street to where he lived.

To Ben’s surprise, the door to the meeting place was closed. It had never been closed before. This was the first time. Ben knocked on the door but no one opened it. He raised his voice and hollered as loud as he could, but ‘Old Preach’ never came, no one opened the door.

Then he heard a voice behind the door saying, “Ben, this is Noah. I can’t open the door. God has shut the door. I’m Sorry. You had your chance to repent and now it’s too late.”

  • Matt. 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
  • Matt. 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
  • Matt. 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Rebecca was excited. Her dear friend Priscilla was getting married tonight. They were life-long friends. All the girls in the neighborhood were abuzz with chatter and girl talk about the upcoming event.

Priscilla had invited Rebecca and nine other girls to stand up with her. That was an honor none of them wanted to miss.

Rebecca and the girls combed each other’s hair and giggled at their frustrations with uncooperative hairdos. They dressed themselves in their prettiest dresses. After examining themselves in the mirror and making a few last minute adjustments, they set out to the wedding chapel.

They took everything with them that they thought they’d need. They didn’t want to be too loaded down with extra and unnecessary items.

Some of the girls brought extra stuff. It made the others roll their eyes just thinking about how impractical it was to lug all that around.

The bridesmaids all arrived early and sat down outside the locked chapel door, waiting for Priscilla to arrive. They bubbled with enthusiasm and tried to image what it would be like if they were to be marrying the man of their dreams.

As fate would have it, the chatter died down. The sun had sat and the girls fell asleep one by one until they all were asleep.

Hours later, they awoke and realized that about half of the girls didn’t bring everything they should have. They hurried off to buy what was missing.

When they got back to the wedding chapel, to their surprise, the door was locked. The other girls were inside with Priscilla, and the wedding had started.

Rebecca hollered through the closed and locked door and announced, “It’s me, Rebecca and the girls, open up, we’ve got every thing we needed!”

A voice behind the door answered back, “I don’t know anyone named Rebecca. Go away!”

  • Matt. 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
  • Matt. 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
  • Matt. 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

There is a voice on the other side of the door this generation needs to hear.

Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

Today’s Lesson:

  1. Repent, don’t ignore preaching. respond.
  2. Keep your lamps burning. (Be filled with the Spirit.)
  3. Have extra oil. (No minimum experience.)
  4. Respond when God knocks on your door.

They Won’t Leave Without Us, They Never Do.

with 6 comments

They Won’t Leave Without Us, They Never Do.

I sat by the window eating a Chicago style hot dog in the Detroit Airport’s National Coney Island Restaurant. I watched as Delta’s ground crew loaded containers into the belly of their huge Jumbo Jet at Gate A50.

An Asian family intently watched the loading of the cargo. I heard them try to guess which containers were theirs.

Two Asian college students sat nearby. They all seemed to be traveling together. I finished my loaded hot dog and chips, and washed it down my Mountain Dew.  The ground crew finished up and closed all the doors and hatches.

The older man at the next table hurriedly left the restaurant and in 2 minutes returned. “They’re boarding right now,” he said. “Hurry!”

The waitress sat two large salads down in front of the students. The kid that spoke English had just taken his 1st bite of chef salad with an additional topping of Thousand Island. He didn’t seem to be bothered by the news.

I wondered what response the father’s words would bring from him.

“Don’t worry,” said the teen. “They won’t leave without us. They never do.”

He continued to finish his salad. While the father hurried back toward the gate. The kids continued to sit and talk about college courses. I heard him called Brian.

I paid my check and walked out.

I was ticketed on a Delta flight to Atlanta. My Gate was A47 which was nearly straight across from A50. I could see that no one was at the gate besides the Delta people. All of the passengers were already on board.

I watched as Delta Agent made an announcement for the departure of their flight to Seoul, South Korea. She then paged a list of 20 or so passengers that had not checked in. One of the names mentioned was Brian Hong. She finished by saying, “All passengers should now be on board.”

There was no one insight hurrying toward Gate A50.

In a little bit, although there was a second announcement, there still was no Brian.

Five minutes later, there was a third one was made. I marveled that Delta had even bothered to give them all a second chance, let alone a third one.

Another five minutes later they made a fourth announcement. I didn’t see anyone hurrying toward the gate. Brian was a no-show.

A Delta pilot with 24 years sonority stood next to me. I voiced my surprise at the patience of the airlines. He shook his head in lack of agreement. Sometimes he said, they even try to leave without me and I’m the pilot. We chuckled at the absurd thought.

A fifth announcement came and then amazingly, a sixth. Each time they still mentioned all of the ‘no shows.’ Brian Hong’s name was called every time.

My plane’s departure time had gotten pushed back a couple of hours. I had time to watch and wait.

The Jumbo Jet at A50 finally left.

One hour or so later, Brian Hong walked up to my gate and talked to the Gate Agent. He was trying to get a flight to Atlanta. He had been left behind. He had to make alternative arrangements.

The father had only warned him once that the flight was boarding. But Brian didn’t believe there was an urgency. He acted like he thought he was really educated in how things worked. After all, he was a college student. He was wiser than his father. He had plenty of time. He could beat the system. The rules didn’t apply to him. He would do whatever he wanted and others could wait on him.

The final line is that he missed his flight. It left without him.  Brian had to make alternative plans.

I don’t know about anymore of what happened to Brian. He didn’t make it on the Atlanta flight either.

This subject brings the focus now to my one remaining question.

So… what are you going to do if you miss the rapture?

I know, I know, there are some that say He isn’t coming. There are even those that say He is, but you have plenty of time.

  • But you don’t!
  • Jesus is coming!
  • No one seems interested in the voice that announces Jesus is coming,”
  • Not very many are watching for His return.
  • We won’t even be as fortunate as Brian Hong. We won’t be able to make alternative arrangements if we miss the coming of the Lord.
  • God doesn’t owe us warning after warning.
  • Don’t make Brian Hong’s mistake.

In the last days it has been prophesied that they will be eating and drinking (Like Brian)… acting like they’ve got a lot of time.

This generation is also saying, “They Won’t Leave Without Us, They Never Do.”

But Delta did!

The departure of the Glorious Church is now being announced.

All passengers should now be on board. Are you?
