The Promises Of The Lord Are Unfailing

with one comment

The Promises Of The Lord Are Unfailing. A Mini Sermon.

At least seven times Jesus used future perfect tense. Future perfect is more powerful than simple future tense. Future perfect tense means you can take it to the bank, it is going to happen. When Jesus used the word will, He always spoke it in future perfect tense.

  1. “I Will” Save You.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out

  • (To Jesus, there is no such thing as a throwaway soul.
  • Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.)

  1. “I Will” Heal You.

Luke 5:12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Luke 5:13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

  • (James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
  • James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him
  • Part of His Calvary experience was the receiving of stripes He suffered them for us. He purposely endured the pain for our healing.)

  1. “I Will” Claim You.

Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

  • (Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
  • Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
  • Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.)

  1. “I Will” Enable You.

Matt 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

  • (If you follow Him, He will make you a soul winner.)

  1. “I Will” Comfort You.

John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

  • (Heb. 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.)

  1. “I Will” Raise You Up.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

  • (1Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
  • 1Thess 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
  • 1Thess 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.)

  1. “I Will” Be With You For Ever

John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

  • (John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
  • John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.)

The Lord’s Promises Are Unfailing!

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Things About God That Thrill Me!

Things About God That Thrill Me!

Psa. 145:5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Psa. 145:21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

1. It Thrills Me To Know God Is Still On The Throne!

  • When dictators are dead and forgotten, God will still be God.
  • He is eternal.

When stars fall from heaven and the sun grow cold and mountains crumble into dust, His Throne still rules.

2. His Blood Has Never Lost Its Power!

The blood of bulls and goats has dried up long ago, but Christ’s Blood is more powerful than sacrificed animals.

  • Picture the ancient priests and the sacrifices.
  • But, now we are blood washed.
  • He has given us a clear record.
  • We are Saved, Washed and Protected by the Blood.

3. It Thrills Me That Every Promise Is True!

  • God cannot lie.
  • He always keeps His Word
  • He is not obligated to make us any promise.
  • But once He does, He is bound to keep it.

The Character, Justice and Goodness of God stand behind every Divine Promise.

4. I Am Thrilled To Remember That Heaven Is Real!

  • It is more than a city in the state of the mind.
  • On the authority of God’s Word, it is an eternal City.
  • It is a prepared City for a prepared people.
  • He has prepared a place for us.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

5. I Am Thrilled That He Is Coming Back Again!

  • He came the first time because the prophets said He would.
  • He’s coming the second time by His own Word and Testimony.

To His Disciples the Angels said:

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

6. None Of These Truths Could Really Thrill Me Unless I Was Convinced The Soul Is Immortal!

  • My soul is going to live forever somewhere.
  • It can be saved or lost.
  • But it will live eternally.

7. I Am Thrilled What The Pentecostal New Birth Experience Does For Us.

  • It gives us Victory
  • Forgiveness
  • Joy
  • Power
  • His Name!
  • Eternal Life

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

What Would It Take To Encourage You Today?

What Would It Take To Encourage You Today?

  • A word spoken in faith?
  • A pat on the back?
  • A smile?
  • A money gift?
  • A present?
  • A word of affirmation?
  • A friend’s visit?
  • A helping hand?

What makes you tick? What puts a smile back on your face that makes your eyes smile too? What would it take to make your heart feel uplifted?

If you are one of those people who has everything and is still not happy, I don’t think I can offer any help here.

I’m just asking those who have had some bad days lately, or maybe some bumps in your road. Maybe there has been a major disaster in your home, your health or your finances. What would it take to encourage you today?

I really wish I could offer everyone encouraging words that I have thought up on my own, but I cannot. The good news however, is that God’s Word always offers encouragement.

The Bible mentions that David even encouraged himself in the Lord. In your case, that might be easier said than done. My refuge and help most often comes from God’s Word.

I am one of those simple guys that from my youth visited the little box on our mantle that had God’s promises printed on little cards. I would draw one out and read it, claiming it as mine for the day. Did you ever do that?

Here, let me draw some out for you and I’ll look to see if I can see a smile of hope on your face again.

Isa. 40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psa. 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Psa. 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psa. 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Rom. 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Phil. 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2 Cor. 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Psa. 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Psa. 37:23,24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Psa. 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psa. 9:9,10 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

2 Cor. 4:8,9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Prov. 18:24 …and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Deut. 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Prov. 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Prov. 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

1 Pet. 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Ex. 15:26 …for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Heb. 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Thank God For His Promises!

Oh, And There All Yours Too, You Can Have Them All!
