Some Men Don’t Dress Up For Church Anymore!
Some men don’t dress up for church anymore. Churches where all the men wear suits, are rare. Does this reflect our ‘comfortable’ thinking about God? Is it that we bought into the concept that God ONLY looks on the inside? I don’t know. I sure don’t have an answer. If you don’t dress up for God, then when would be an appropriate time to dress up?
Some men don’t dress up for church anymore!
- How important is church to you?
- If it doesn’t mean much, your choice of attire will soon reflect your opinion.
- Being in the presence of the Lord, is the most important part of my day.
- I will always dress up for the occasion.
My sentiments exactly. I am grieved by this development. Thank you, and may God help us all.

We had a lady that always looked so beautifully neat every service. A young person ask why she always dressed up for every service. Her response was, “I’ve come to the King’s house to visit the King”.

Thankful that I was taught and understand that going to see my Lord and King requires a certain decorum. He is not just God, He is my savior, my friend and my love. Why I would not give Him my best is unthinkable.

Awesome Post. Unless someone is a new convert or coming off the streets, we should show reverence by dressing as we are going to the King’s Table to feast.

I agtee we are too relax. We dress for success for our jobs but come into the church anyway.

Thank You Bro. Balestro for reiterating this! My heart is grieved when I see people come to church in a “don’t care” fashion!

I am a Baptist minister and church pastor. I feel the same way as you do. I wear a tie to preach even on Wednesday and Sunday evening. To me personally, this is very important. It makes me sad that many servants of God are so “modern” and are following the culture around them, that sometimes they look like tramps when they stand behind the pulpit.

So true. I believe we should look & wear our best to his house.
