The Danger Of Being Too Friendly With The Evangelist.

with 4 comments

The Danger Of Being Too Friendly With The Evangelist.

On occasion, your Pastor will invite a guest speaker or an evangelist. He wants you to like them and enjoy their ministry. It’s a compliment to his good judgment of preachers and ministries if you do.

Where there becomes an issue that is uncomfortable for your Pastor and his friends are when you give the guest preachers nicer and more frequent compliments than you give to your own Pastor.

After all, he’s the one that worries over you, prays for you, counsels with you and answers to God for you. Not the others. They may like you, they may like you a lot, but there is a line that must be drawn between them and you.

Make sure you give better compliments to your own Pastor than you do to anyone else.

It’s kind of like a man giving another woman a compliment and he doesn’t even compliment his own wife. Something is very wrong in their relationship. Something is very wrong in your relationship with the Man of God if you are guilty concerning this.

A seasoned evangelist can often spot those who have a problem with their Pastor and then try to give the guest speaker the personal attention and honor that belongs to their Man of God.  That is just so wrong.

It even gets more complicated than this…

There are many Godly, precious people who dearly love their Pastor and would never knowingly do a thing to injure him. In innocence, they attempt to interact with another preacher they admire and sometimes feel put off or hurt because of the lack of warmth in his response to them. Actually, in good conscience, he can’t. So, don’t take it personal. He does like you and appreciates you, he’s just trying to be careful. His allegiance is to your pastor.

In the day of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Messenger, emails and text messaging, don’t try to personally interact with other preachers (unless they are family) no matter how much you like them. It easily becomes quite an uncomfortable position for ‘ethical minded’ preachers.

Don’t expect him to respond to your emails or private messages. His loyalty is to your pastor. Do you realize that if word got out that an evangelist was having conversations, exchanging emails, phone calls, private messages on Facebook, and text messages with saints, that his days as an evangelist are numbered? It’s not right for you or him. Don’t give him your information and don’t let him give you his.

Any contact with other preachers should be directed through your Pastor. If he sees fit to pass your message or request on, then fine. If he doesn’t, then trust his judgment. He knows what he’s doing and why. Your spiritual safety is his greatest concern. Work with him on that.

Guest preachers who ‘work the crowd’ by lingering long with each saint, buttering up them, and learning personal things about their world should raise everyone’s eyebrows. Why would he make comments on your Facebook posts all the time? What’s his motive? Ethical evangelists know to stay on the platform after service or near the Pastor to protect themselves and for proprietary’s sake.

If you don’t understand why, imagine you as a woman contacting, calling, writing or leaving messages for a male acquaintance of your husband.  Or maybe it’s him calling you. Your husband would have serious questions for you both, and rightly so.

If he didn’t run when you attempted to contact him, then if he has even part of a conscience, he would not be comfortable around your Pastor anymore because of guilt. He’d know he had crossed the line of ministerial ethics. His days would be over. It’s not worth it for him or you.

If you love your Pastor then protect him. Protect how he feels about you. Protect his relationship with other preachers. Protect yourself. He’ll love you all the more for it too.

Don’t try to private message other preachers. Don’t force them to cut you off, block you or ignore you. They want you to like them, sure! But they hate it when you push them into an uncomfortable situation.

Don’t walk up and hand them gifts, or even money. If you want to give an extra offering to the evangelist, then talk to your pastor and he will guide you through a process that is comfortable to him.

Any evangelist that would contact you and ask for money or any favor is unethical. They are to be ignored, blocked or unfriended. Their actions should be reported to your pastor immediately.

Your Pastor is to be loved, respected and honored. His office as Pastor is above all others, and I personally thank you for loving him. He’s God’s gift to you and your church. Love him. Show it by your loyalty, and your respect. Let no other preacher, family or not, come between you and your pastor. That is a sacred area that should never be defiled. It is a line that must not be crossed.

On his behalf, I thank you.

The Desire To Be Cherished

with 5 comments

The Desire To Be Cherished

“They do not love that do not show their love.” – Shakespeare

It’s A Basic Life Need

Cherish – Definition:

To hold Dear:

To Cultivate with Care and Affection

To Nurture

To Treasure, Prize, Value

To Feel And Show Affection For

Babies Desire To Be Cherished And Held.

  • They cry often for their Mama’s touch.
  • Children run to her to be comforted.

When Babies Are Not Cherished:

I read a few years ago about Romanian orphans who were given only the basic nourishment and hygiene. Soon the babies became withdrawn and unresponsive. They may be forever emotionally damaged… much like adults who are not cherished. They will almost always exhibit emotional problems and act out.

All Children Desire to Be Cherished.

Every child remembers if they were loved. Everyone remembers how their parents treated him or her when they were young. Not being cherished is something most difficult to survive.

Little Kids Ask Their Parents.

  • Am I your favorite? Who do you love the most?
  • How much do you love me?
  • They are putting out feelers attempting to assure themselves that they are cherished.

Teenagers Desire To Be Cherished.

  • They dream about it.
  • They sing about it.
  • They listen to music about it.
  • They want to be loved.
  • They want someone to cherish them.
  • To complicate the matter, their hormones rage out of control during the process.
  • Some girls never feel cherished by their father, so they seek elsewhere for male approval.
  • They never felt cherished at home, so they look for someone to validate and approve of them.
  • They just want to be cherished.

Sadly, the title of the song: “Looking for Love In All The Wrong Places,” has more truth than fiction.

During Courtship, Both Parties Practice Cherishing The Other Person.

  • They say sweet things.
  • They do sweet things.
  • Treat each other with tenderness.
  • The boy courts the girl and brings flowers and candy.
  • They overlook each other’s imperfections.

My Father-In-Law, the late William R. Starr, gave me some wise insight before I even asked his daughter out on a first date. He said, “Men love with their eyes, but Women love with their ears.”

Dad Starr was telling me in man-talk, that a woman wants to hear that she is cherished! He was a very wise man.

All Husbands And Wives Desire To Be Cherished

Every woman wants to know she’s #1. So does every man. When you hold your wife in your arms and tell that you love her, she wants to feel your words coming from your heart, and not just your mouth.

If you are a wise man, you will NEVER stop courting your wife and affirming your love for her and expressing it often. The words, “I love you!” have a very short shelf life. You need to say it every day!

Flowers, cards, candy, dates and accomplishing ‘honey-do-lists’ with a smile, sure helps keep life wonderful at home.

Every Prospective Groom Says, “Will You Marry Me?” He is hoping he will be cherished and loved.

Every Prospective Bride Says, “Yes” She is hoping she will be cherished and loved.

To The Wife:

Don’t settle for less than being cherished. Likewise, cherish him. It’s a two-way street.

To The Husband:

Sir, you are to love your wife As Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. You won’t easily give your life for someone you don’t cherish. The Lord meant for the husband to cherish his wife with his very own life. It’s really not hard.

Jacob Cherished Rachel.

He worked seven years to get her as his wife, and was given the wrong one. The Bible just says: “It seemed but a few days, for the love he had for her.”

David Never Cherished Michal

He always referred her to as “Saul’s Daughter.” He never said that he loved her. He never referred to her as his wife. That may be a reason why she acted out so badly.

The Proverbs 31 Wife

Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

“He Praiseth Her”: The word praiseth here is – Halal

HALAL – haw-lal’;

  • To shine; hence
  • To make a show, (let everyone know)
  • To be (clamorously) foolish; (enjoy with enthusiasm)
  • To rave; (to go on and on with excited appreciation)
  • To boast, (brag in public)
  • To celebrate, (honor every achievement)
  • To foolishly glory, (go overboard in expressing praise)
  • To sing, (to express your emotion as deeply as possible, sing His praises.)
  • To praise, (to say every nice thing you can)
  • To rage, (to be wild about)

When joined with the abbreviated form of God’s name “Yahweh” = Hallelujah. That’s where the word Hallelujah comes from. (Saying Hallelujah like saying 10,000 praises to Jehovah)

When a man goes to this extent, of ‘Halal-ing” his wife, she will feel cherished and will perform unbelievable things for her home and family because she knows she has the backing of the man she loves.

In like manner, when the same man goes to this extent to Halal The Lord Jesus… there is no telling what the Lord will do for him.

Not Everyone Has Been Cherished In Life, But There Is Great News!

God Cherishes His People.

They Are The Apple of His Eye

Zech. 2:8   For thus saith the LORD of hosts… he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

(Warning: Don’t mess with any one the Lord cherishes!)

God Protected Israel In Goshen

  • Egyptian Dogs wouldn’t bark against the Israelites.
  • No Plagues came nigh them.

God Protected Israel In The Wilderness

  • Provided in the wilderness.
  • There was no sickness.
  • No one’s clothes wore out.

God’s Desire To Be Cherished By Man

Yes, you say you love the Lord, but do you cherish him? Jesus wants to know for sure that you cherish Him before He can use you.

Jesus to Peter

John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

John 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

David

Psalm 137:5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

Psalm 137:6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

He was saying he loved God’s house more than anything in the world. David also said, “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

He cherished the things of God! God said that David was a man after God’s own heart. Was David perfect? Oh no. He was far from perfect. But the way he cherished everything about God, made God smile upon him.

The Jealousy of God – Is Another Way Of Saying He Just Wants To Be Cherished.

2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

God Desires Man To Cherish Him

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

The Lord Knows The Difference Between Lip Service And Heartfelt Expressions Of Love.

  • Men that cherish God – Worship
  • Men that cherish God – Come to His House

My Visit To See Marcia, The Girl I Wanted For My Wife, In 1965

Before our engagement, in the early stages of our courtship, I once closed a revival service on Sunday night in Fort Worth, TX and drove 24 hours straight through to Albion, MI… just to see a little Miss Marcia June Starr for one hour. I arrived after 10:30 pm, left before midnight and drove two hours back to my home in South Bend, IN. It’s never a sacrifice to see the one you love.

You’re Not Faithful To God’s House?

  • Don’t tell me you cherish God and you can’t make it to church.
  • You don’t cherish Him if you layout of church!
  • It’s never a sacrifice to see the one you love.

Like David, we should all say, “I was glad when they said unto me let us go unto the house of the Lord.”

Jacob Cherished The Birth Right

  • Jacob had major character flaws I’m sure.
  • But he cherished the same Birthright that Esau despised, so God chose to love Jacob and discard Esau.
  • God cherished Jacob and said, ‘Jacob Have I loved, and Esau have I hated.’
  • Make God love you too by cherishing those things, which are Godly and eternal.

Don’t Tell Me You Cherish The Lord Jesus…

  • If You Don’t Pay Tithes.
  • If You Hate Holiness.
  • If You Aren’t Faithful To His House.
  • If You Don’t Pray.
  • If You Don’t Worship.
  • If You Bring Disunity To His Church.
  • If You Rebel Against His Word.

Sing Like You Cherish Him.

Pray Like You Cherish Him.

Talk Like You Cherish Him.

Dress Like You Cherish Him.

God is Jealous Of What You Cherish.

Amp Bible 1 John 2:15 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.

You Don’t Cherish The Lord If…

  • If Someone Has To Beg You To Come To Church
  • If Someone Has To Beg You To Worship
  • If Someone Has To Beg You To Pray

Think about the words the next time you sing: “So, I’ll Cherish The Old Rugged Cross”

The Old Rugged Cross

George Bennard 1913

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,

The emblem of suff’ring and shame;

And I love that old cross where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain:

So, I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,

Till my trophies at last I lay down;

I will cling to the old rugged cross,

And exchange it some day for a crown.

Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,

Has a wondrous attraction for me;

For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above

To bear it to dark Calvary.

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,

A wondrous beauty I see,

For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,

To pardon and sanctify me.

To the old rugged cross, I will ever be true;

Its shame and reproach gladly bear;

Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,

Where His glory forever I’ll share.

The Lord Cherished Us Even In Our Sins.

John 3:16    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

We Love Him Because He First Loved Us!

Here’s Your Homework For Today:

1. Tell Jesus that you love Him!

  • Tell Him from your heart that you love Him.
  • Yes, this very moment… say, “Jesus, I love you with all my heart!”
  • Put your heart into it. He can tell.

2. Next, Go Tell Your Spouse And Your Family That You Love Them.

  • Put your heart into it.
  • They can tell.

Don’t Forget To Feed That Calf

leave a comment »

“Don’t Forget To Feed That Calf”

The farmer looked closely at his cows and little calves. He felt blessed this year to have some good ones to choose from. He finally settled on the one he thought would be the best.  Pointing his finger at one, he yelled loud enough to be heard above the lowing cattle. He gave a command to his hired hand that would forever change the daily operation of his farm.

“Put that one in the main stall. Keep it separate from the others. And, feed it extra good feed every day. Do you hear me?”

“Yes sir,” came the reply as the man took a rope, then looped the calf’s little neck and began leading it toward the barn.

Every day after that the farmer went by the stall to check on his chosen calf. This calf would fare better than any of the others he had ever raised. He would fatten this one up on purpose. The amount of grain and hay given to it would be much more than the others received. Its stall was separate because the farmer knew if the other calves got in there, they would eat up all the feed.

Work on the farm started when the sun came up. The chickens were fed, and their eggs gathered. The donkeys were fed too. The cows got milked and were able to eat during the process. Nursing calves nudged their mothers seeking more milk. Even the dog was near his bowl waiting for his daily portion. The rooster officially started the morning’s business by announcing it was time to begin the day.

The smell of breakfast oozed from the kitchen into the rest of the house and yard. Everyone seemed busy doing something, but then one by one they washed up came inside and sat down to eat. The farmer prayed and gave thanks over the food, and then he, his son and the workers begin to eat and make small table talk. About the time they were finishing up, the farmer gave out his daily work orders to the crew. He finished by pointing to one of his men and said, “And, don’t forget to feed that calf.”

The man nodded and they all arose to finish the rest of their chores. In a couple of hours, the farmer went to the calf’s stall to check on things again. Yes, the calf had been fed and fed extra. The feed box still had grain in it. Several bats of hay lay on the ground as a backup supply. The little calf sure looked like it was thriving on the new diet.

The farmer leaned on the wooden gate and looked at the calf. His mind went back to the image of his baby boy carrying all his belongings and walking down the road away from the house not even looking back. Tears moistened his cheeks and ran down past his chin. His baby boy was gone! Oh, how he missed him! He had looked down the road every day hoping for a glimpse of him.

But something in his father’s gut told him that there would be a day when his boy would come back home. He didn’t know when, but he believed he eventually would. He knew his son would be very ashamed of what he had done when he did come home. He would never hold it over his son’s head and say, “I told you so!” Absolutely not! When he did return home, the father had no plans of going back to business as usual. No sir. He would do everything he could to let his boy know that he was loved and forgiven. He would throw a great big party for him. A party with lots of music, dancing, steaks, some barbecue, and festivities. Yes sir, he would make this calf get fat. Real fat.

  • This calf was dedicated to his son’s home-coming.
  • This calf represented the substance of things hoped for.
  • This calf was just waiting for the son’s day of restoration.
  • This calf was the party calf!

He wiped the tears from his face and turned around slowly, catching the eyes of some of his men, and said loudly for all of them to hear…

“Don’t Forget To Feed That Calf.”

Luke 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Luke 15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

Luke 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

Luke 15:23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

Luke 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

“What If a Few Weddings In The Bible Didn’t Turn Out Like God Wanted Them To?”

with one comment

Guest Editorial.

Bill Davidson Gives Marriage Advice To People Who Aren’t Sure!

“What If a Few Weddings In The Bible Didn’t Turn Out Like God Wanted Them To?”

  1. What If Rachel Didn’t Want To Leave Her Mama?

Gen 24:14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also:

Abraham’s servant prayed for the will of God in choosing a wife for his master’s son.

He Didn’t Pray:

  • For The girl to be beautiful.
  • For Her to be talented.
  • For her to be the smartest girl in town.

He only prayed for her to be willing to give him and his camels a drink. That’s it. But what would have happened if she had chosen to stay in her village with her mom and ‘em?

  • After all, she hadn’t even seen a picture of this Isaac dude she would have to marry.
  • (He might have a few head of cows, but he might be ugly too.)
  • Besides, she may never get to see any of her family again.
  • Was this guy worth all of that?

If Rachael, even after passing the ‘will of God’ test that the servant had made, had still said no to leaving her mama… What would she have missed out on?

  1. Being the wife of a man who was in a covenant relationship with God!
  2. Being in the bloodline of the coming Messiah!
  3. Being one of the richest women in the world.
  4. Becoming one history’s most beloved mothers!

Bill Davidson’s Advice To Every Rebecca?

  • Pack your suitcase girlfriend, and kiss yer mama goodbye!
  • Pack yer little pink suitcase.
  • Don’t wait,
  • Grab the opportunity. It’s a once in a lifetime.
  • (Besides, even though you’re sweet, you may need to cover your face when you first see him.)

  1. What If Boaz Had Never Married His Ruth?

Boaz felt pretty much like a cool dude. He was doing pretty well for a single guy. He had a big farm and some hired hands working for him. He had everything a man could want… except the most important thing. A wife!

During the harvest, this beautiful woman shows up in his field and works like a slave girl. She sure wasn’t afraid to work. Sure, you might could guess she wasn’t rich and had come through hard times, but she wasn’t asking for a handout either. That was in her favor.

Boaz was smitten by her beauty. When he looked at her he was more influenced by his hormones than by the Holy Ghost. He like what he saw. Yet, there was a few hurdles he had to get past.

There were some details that had to be ironed out and quite a few people to reckon with and please. Public opinion had to be faced.

Boaz then struggled a bit with going forward with wedding plans and even tried to let one of his cousins have first chance at marrying her if he wanted her.

Ruth 4:5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

Ruth 4:6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.

So, What If Boaz Had Never Married His Ruth?

  • He would have been out he will of God
  • Obed, his son would have never been born.
  • (His name means worshiper. There would’ve been no worship in his life.)
  • Jesus would not have been born.
  • There would have been no cross, nor an empty tomb.
  • There would have been no salvation for sin.
  • Boaz would have had to go to hell.
  • Boaz did not know there would be a messiah in his blood line.
  • He never asked for or sought the will of God.
  • He had no clue that the will of God was staring him in the face.
  • He might have died a bachelor if he let Ruth get away.

Bill Davidson’s Advice To Every Boaz?

  • Dude, don’t pass up this opportunity and let this Ruth chick slip away.
  • If you don’t marry her, you will go to hell.
  • You are an idiot man, if you let anyone else have a chance to marry her.
  • My God man, Tell her you love her now, and get the ball rolling!

  1. What If Jacob Had Let Rachel Slip Through His Fingers Because He Was Broke?

Jacob the con artist ran away from home to keep from being killed. He hasn’t been gone but a few days and he meets the prettiest girl in the world. It would cost a lot of money to marry a girl that pretty. What’s a man to do?

  • He didn’t have two shekels to rub together.
  • He didn’t even have his own tent.
  • He didn’t even own a camel to ride on.
  • He didn’t have enough money to go on a nice date.
  • He was broke.

So, how do you face a girl’s dad and act like you are interested in his daughter and you don’t have any money? How will you support her? Will you have to live with her folks? You have no place to take her. Can you live on love alone?

Bill Davidson’s Advice To Every Jacob?

  • Hey Jake! She loves you even though you’re broker than the ten commandments.
  • It will work out. I promise.
  • Man Up Dude!
  • Be willing to give yourself when you don’t have any money.
  • Tell her you love her. Even though you’re broke, it’s still God’s will.

Saying, “Thank You” And Responding In Kind… For Husbands And Wives.

with 4 comments

Saying, “Thank You” And Responding In Kind… For Husbands And Wives.

By Marcia And Martyn Ballestero

What is your response when someone you love says, “I love you”?

  • (“I love you too!” is the expected and best reaction.)

What is your response when he tells you that you are beautiful?

  • (“Ok,” is not acceptable.)
  • (“Don’t disqualify his compliment.)
  • (Don’t roll your eyes.)

Respond with something like,

  • “You’re so sweet!”
  • “Thank you Babe!”

What is your response when he comes up from behind, while you are washing dishes and he gives you a quick smooch on the cheek?

  • (“What was that for?” is the wrong response!)
  • (“What do you want now?” is a bad reaction, that will hurt!)
  • (These are responses that stop affection in marriage.)
  • (Why couldn’t you have turned to him and kissed him back? He was trying to be sweet.)

What is your response when he gives you a little pat?

  • (Acting too bothered to appreciate the attention or pulling away will stop his affection.)
  • (The least you could do is smile!)
  • (For a bonus, say ,“I love you!”)
  • (Pat him back sometime.)

What is your response when you are sitting in your lazy-boy chair reading, and she brings you a snack without you asking?

  • (Grunting is an uncouth caveman’s response! Never do that.)
  • (“Thanks Baby, you’re just the best!” is always good.)
  • (Surprise her with an unexpected act of service.)

What is your response when your spouse washes your clothes and folds them and puts them in the drawer and you just now noticed?)

  • (Ignoring an act of love would be taking your partner for granted)
  • (“Thank You very much.” Will go a long ways)
  • (Think of something nice to do back to them)

What is your response when you receive a compliment you don’t feel you really deserve?”

  • (Ignoring it is a slap in the face.)
  • (Wrinkling your nose, and shaking your head no is ignorant and immature.)
  • (Realize they are saying it to you because that’s how they feel, so say “Thank you!”)
  • (Smile and be humble.)
  • (Find something to compliment them on… try hard if necessary.)

What is your response when you are sitting on the couch working on something you think is important and your wife chooses that moments to sit beside you, touch you and kind of snuggles up close?

  • (Acting irritated or ignoring her is a sign of stupidity.)
  • (Saying you can’t be bothered right now will turn off more switches than you have the power to turn back on.)
  • (Whatever you are working on can wait. I’m very serious.)
  • (Nothing in the world is more important to you than she is.)
  • (PUT IT DOWN NOW!)
  • (You will thank us later.)

What is your response when your wife needs to talk about something she feels is important?

  • (Not stopping what you’re doing and looking into her eyes will not lead to a happy day.)
  • (Always listen without seeming to be bored or aggravated.)
  • (Don’t shut down and give the silent treatment.)
  • (If the subject is heated, remember a soft answer turneth away wrath, and where there is no wood the fire goes out.)
  • (If you’re guilty or have done something wrong. Humbly apologize.)
  • (Use your inside voice when you speak.)

What is your response when you are kissed fully on the lips?

  • (For crying out loud… If I have to answer that for you, you don’t deserve a spouse or to be kissed on the lips!)

Now Go Have A Blessed (Romantic) Day ❤️

I Watched An Angel Grow Up!

I Watched An Angel Grow Up!

It’s true! I actually watched an Angel grow up! She will deny that she is an angel, but I know angels when I see one. The first time I ever saw her was on May 2, (a few years ago). She was very tiny and I was the first man to ever hold her, kiss her baby forehead, and tell her I loved her. She didn’t respond much at the time, but I wanted her to get used to hearing the words… “I Love You” Because, Angels love with their ears and wise men know that.

She wrapped her baby hands around my finger and when she did that, she wrapped my heart around her little finger. We decided to name our little Angel, Marisa June Ballestero.

I was most honored of all men to watch her grow, play, sing, express joy, and have fun. She was so sweet and affectionate with her Mom and I. Even though we knew she was really an Angel, she even took on the human role of Daddy’s girl!

I watched her grow up. I watched her fall in love. I watched her marry and raise a family. I watched her blossom into a beautiful Angel who is drop-dead gorgeous , talented, loving, and more astounding to me than any Wonder Woman!

One of life’s greatest honors is for me to say, that I watched an angel grow up in my own home. Her birth certificate says that she is the daughter of Marcia and Martyn Ballestero. But her Mom and I know who she really is. She is actually an Angel, a real Angel sent from above!

S0, today is the day I get to say Happy Birthday to my Angel, Marisa June Ballestero Hartzell!

I Will Always Love You!

My Hero Wears A Dress

Marcia crop

She can’t fly, except into my arms.

She can see right through impossible situations.

She can hear you if you need help and can’t ask for it.

She amazes everyone with her powers of love, nurturing and care.

She is a ministering servant to those who love her.

She is always willing to help, to love and to forgive.

She can make the world’s most wonderful food magically appear before her guests.

She always creates a home atmosphere where people want to come and relax.

She denies having super powers, yet her family and friends marvel that she accomplishes the impossible with apparent grace and ease.

She does things no one else in the family is able to do.

I’m telling you. She may wear a dress, but that doesn’t stop her from being my Hero!

She doesn’t even know how awesome she really is and denies being an angel and passes off the compliments with smile and a thank you. But, we are not sure she actually believes the nice things we say about her or to her. She is a Humble Hero.

She Is My Hero, My Angel, My Wife

(As a mere mortal, I have always believed that she is an angel in disguise. Well… Her kisses make the think she’s an angel.)

Her Birthday Is The 16th Of July

She accepted me as her human companion and I’ve loved her with all my heart for over fifty-one years. I will never stop loving her or needing her.

As the mere mortal who loves her more than any man is normally allowed to love an angel, I want to wish her a very Happy Birthday. (Angels don’t really have actual ages.)

Marcia?

I Love You Darling! You Are My Hero. You Are My Angel. I Thank God For You! Happy Birthday!

Things You Won’t Fix

with 3 comments

Things You Won’t Fix

Isn’t it amazing how we can allow ourselves to live with situations that are not normal? Not only do we live with it, but also we ignore it, saying that when we get the time we’ll fix it. Like remodel your home, if you want to remodel your garden you can click here to check the best metal parts.

There are always things to fix at home, you may need to remodel some part of the house like design planning, roof fixing, foundation problems, electrical or water issues that are the most common around the house, some people like to remodel or change the design, maybe repainting some walls, so they even go online to read paint reviews and find the best paint that work for their specific neeeds. This are more specific so you might need  professional help like this great company that works everything for you in  https://wholehousewaterfiltrationsystem.com/california where you can find advise and help to to fix your water system and they even apply water filtration and treatment systems to purify  and have more healthy water. Other important things are the plumbing, HVAC duct-work and structural carpentry.

Things Like:

  • A leaky faucet.
  • The cracked storm window.
  • Some partially finished remodeling job.
  • Your leaky roof.
  • The broken back doorstep.
  • Missing basement handrail.
  • A button missing from a sport coat.
  • That rotten tooth that needs pulled?
  • The broken HVAC, you should find the best heating repair contractor in http://performancebasedheatingandair.com/

Never Fixed

We Mention It, Say We Need To Do It, But Let It Go Another Year.

  • The things you don’t fix will fix you.
  • It WILL put you in a fix.
  • Is the cost of not fixing it cheaper than fixing it? No! Never.
  • Aren’t there some things your wife has asked you to fix six months ago and you still haven’t gotten around to it?
  • If you don’t fix your car, you’ll put it up on blocks and it will sit as an eyesore for years out in the front yard.  Everyone will know you by that landmark.
  • The leaky faucet will raise your water bill.
  • The leaky roof will cost you thousands to fix because you let it go.
  • The tooth will give you more pain than you could imagine.
  • When a house is not fixed we say they just let the place go.
  • There are just some things you won’t fix.

King Solomon Marveled At Men Who Procrastinated During The Harvest.

  • Prov. 24:30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
  • Prov. 24:31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
  • Prov. 24:32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Common Phrases Are Used In Regards To One’s Personal Appearance.

  • “She fixed herself up.”
  • “He let himself go”

When We Do Not Do Something Immediately, We Call It Procrastination.

The closest word to procrastination in the Bible is, sluggard. We are repulsed by even the thought of being called a sluggard.

The sluggard is a procrastinator. His motto is, “Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.” Sluggards have developed the ability to put off starting a task as well as not completing those they have already begun.

The sluggard rationalizes everything and his mind works much faster than his body. He will always quickly find an excuse not to.

  • I don’t have the time
  • I don’t have the tools
  • I don’t have the know-how
  • I don’t have the desire
  • I don’t feel in the mood
  • I got a lot of irons in the fire
  • I have a headache

There Are Those Who Never Fix Themselves Spiritually. They Just Let Themselves Go.

Are There Some Things In Our Hearts That We Won’t Fix?

  • A bad attitude?
  • A bad habit?
  • No prayer life?
  • No worship?
  • Not honoring God with our tithes?
  • Broken family relationships?
  • Bridges we need to build?
  • Restoring an offended brother?
  • Not saying I’m sorry, forgive me?

Be Reconciled To Your Brother Before To Expect God To Hear You.

  • Matt 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
  • Matt 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Need To Fix Your Back Tithe Problem?

  • It will cost you heavily if you do not fix the problem areas of your soul.
  • It will cost you 20% additional if you do not stay current with your tithing. The longer you wait the more it will cost you.
  • Lev 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.

When You Don’t Fix It, Then It’s Becomes Sin!

  • Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
  • We like to use the word procrastinate, but that word is not in the Bible. A sluggard is what the Scripture calls us.
  • In the natural, your procrastination qualifies you as a sluggard.
  • In the spiritual, the Bible just calls you a sinner.
  • Spiritually, our pride keeps us from fixing some things.

There Are Things You Won’t Fix, Why?

  • You know you need the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues.
  • You know you need to be baptized in Jesus name to be saved.
  • You know you need to be faithful to church.
  • You know you need to worship.
  • You know you need to pay tithes.
  • You know you need to live a holy and separated life.
  • You know you need to be reconciled to your brother.

Jesus Called The Scribes And Pharisees, Hypocrites.

  • Mat 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
  • They only fixed the part men could see.
  • Hypocrites won’t fix what really needs to be fixed.

There Are Men In The Bible Who Never Fixed What Was Wrong In Their Life.

Agrippa Almost Got Right With God.

  • Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
  • He never fixed it.

Felix Knew What He Needed To Do, But The Timing Wasn’t Right.

  • Acts 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
  • He never fixed it.

The Rich Young Ruler Thought It Cost Too Much To Follow Jesus.

  • Matt. 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
  • He never fixed it.

When It Comes To Fixing, Some Things God Has Put A Time Limit On.

  • Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
  • God’s curfew for anger is sunset. Fix your disagreements before the sun goes down. That’s God’s requirement.
  • Fix it.

The Four Lepers Fixed It

  • 2Ki 7:3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
  • They fixed it!

Jacob Had A Problem But He Fixed It When He Wrestled With The Angel

  • Gen 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
  • He fixed it!

The Prodigal Son

  • Luke 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
  • Luke 15:19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
  • He fixed it!

The History of Obligatory Archery Practice!

The references to horses, riders, kingdoms and battles in “For want of a nail” indicate the English origins of the rhyme. One of the English Kings did not leave anything to chance! In 1363, to ensure the continued safety of the realm, King Edward III commanded the obligatory practice of archery on Sundays and holidays! The earliest known written version of the rhyme is in John Gower’s “Confesio Amantis” dated approximately 1390.

“For Want Of A Nail”

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.

For want of a shoe the horse was lost.

For want of a horse the rider was lost.

For want of a rider the battle was lost.

For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.

And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

Are there are things God has asked you to fix and you still haven’t gotten around to it?

Why would you expect God to fix things for you that you’re not willing to fix for yourself?

Have you got a loose or lost nail in your life?

Please fix it.

Yes, Fix It Now!

Living Right With Wrong

Living Right

Luke 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come:

  • Wrong things happen to everyone, not just you.
  • Sometimes, the wrong isn’t fixed overnight and we are forced to live with what hurts us the most.
  • Our reaction to this wrong determines the outcome.
  • It will decide how you feel now and how you will feel later.
  • It also affects how God will feel about you in your tribulation.
  • An old man-made adage reminds us, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

Rom. 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

Rom. 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

David Had To Cope With Javelins Being Thrown At Him By The King.

Saul threw javelins at David but he just kept dodging them and never threw one back. He was doing his best to live right with wrong.

Are You Living With Angry People? Speak Kind Words.

Prov. 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Are You Mistreated? Turn The Other Cheek.

Matt. 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Did You Lose A Lawsuit? Give Them More Than They Required.

Matt. 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

Are You Coping With Unreasonable Demands? Go The Extra Mile.

Matt. 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Forgive Without Limitation!

Matt. 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

Matt. 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Avoid The Company Of And Do Not Eat With These Types Of People:

  • Fornicators
  • Covetous People
  • Critical People
  • People Who Don’t Put God First
  • People With Addictions
  • Blackmailers

1Cor. 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Do Not Hurt Those That Have Hurt You.

1Thess. 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

Love, Bless, And Pray For Your Enemies And Then Treat Them Nice.

Matt. 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Leave Revenge Up To God. Don’t Ever Try To Get Even.

Rom. 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Let The Lord Fight Your Battle.

Exo. 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Avoid These Destructive People:

2Tim. 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Tim. 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Tim. 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Tim. 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Tim. 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Even Though They Are Not Nice To You, Treat Others Like You Want Them To Treat You.

Matt. 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Don’t Take Your Brother To Court.

1Co 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

1Co 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

1Co 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

1Co 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

1Co 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

1Co 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

1Co 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

1Co 6:8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Got A Problem Between You And Your Brother? Fix it God’s Way.

Mat 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Be A Peacemaker And You Will Be Called A Child Of God.

Matt. 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Put A Time Limit On Your Displeasure.

Eph. 4:26 …let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Rom. 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
